Islam is not complicated

 Islam is not complicated, 99.99% of Muslims have no problem believing in One God, His books, His messengers, His angles and the Day of Judgment. Further more nobody disputes the importance of prayers and Zakat and the principles of moderation and patience then what is it that is so important besides the above to render us Kafirs by the competing sects. The problem of Muslims as opposed to Islam is their fascinations with sects and the completely unnecessary resulting need to make sense out of it. 

When we abandon the principles of moderation and commit the mistake of assuming that there is something outside of the clear worded text of the Quran which has a certain fixed implied meaning, the result is a sect. Since these "somethings outside" have different origins hence different sects is not a surprise. Needless to say, each sect is forced to claim to be the "one" a logical absurdity. The difference between these competing claims and the word of God is that the word of God is 100% verifiable independent of these outside elements and the sect claims are dependent on "my scholars are better than your scholars" nonsense.
