Who said the below posted words of wisdom? Given the fact that 99.9% of reports ascribed to the Prophet of God are not, yes not verbatim. Just to clarify; when a report starts with "The prophet said" it is not so in 99.9% of the cases, in reality, it means somebody paraphrased. The following makes you think what was actually said.
"A word might be omitted from the tradition and thus alter its meaning; or a word might be pronounced differently from the way it was pronounced by the transmitter, thus altering the meaning of the tradition, even though he who pronounced it did not intend to do so. If he who transmits a tradition is ignorant of its meaning, he does not understand the tradition, and we do not accept it. [For] if he transmits what he does not understand, he is of those who do not transmit the tradition word for word; and he seeks to transmit the meaning of the tradition, but he does not understand the meaning at all"
And did the wise man follow up on his own observation ? Sadly not. For those who did not Google it as yet, these words of wisdom were spoken by none other than the man himself, Imam Shafi, or were they ?
The real question is; with all the talk about how we should accept Ahadith literature without a peep since the Quran and Hadith reached us supposedly through the same people and many sect members goes as far as insisting that Hadith were another form of Revelation and on and on about the pseudo science of Hadith, then why don't they make it clear to the Ummah that when we say "The prophet said" (PBUH) it is not accurate at all, far from it, given Shafi's take and the fact that authentic mutawatir reports will easily fit on a two pager, lets not forget Quran did reach us verbatim. on the other hand the actual mutawatir bil lafz (verbatim) reports number less than a dozen. Imagine that. Out of the total of 4400 odd reports classified as Sahih, less than a dozen will qualify for the prefix "The prophet said" (PBUH). Who is kidding who ?
Those who promote the seriously flawed Hadith literature insist that they (or their sect leaders) have verified that "all" of Bukhari and Muslim compilation is beyond reproach (similar claims by other sects). If the prophet Pbuh himself could not tell the hypocrites from the genuine Sahaba then how did they manage this impossible feat ?
And from among those who are round about you of the dwellers of the desert there are hypocrites, and from among the people of Medina (also); they are stubborn in hypocrisy; you do not know them; We know them; We will chastise them twice then shall they be turned back to a grievous chastisement Quran [9:101]
Ironically Bukhari's own report clearly points to this fact especially after his, Prophet's Pbuh demise:
Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, "Some of my companions will come to me at my Lake Fount, and after I recognize them, they will then be taken away from me, whereupon I will say, 'My companions!' Then it will be said, 'You do not know what they innovated (new things) in the religion after you."
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 76, Hadith 584
And yet they insist. Why ?
God's solution to claims; bring four upright witnesses from the community, this last condition "from the community" cannot be over emphasized and cannot be put aside. It is a real sad reflection on the Hadith evaluators that they got so caught up in their own "desires", to use a term very familiar to the traditionalist, that they forgot all about God's standards of authenticity in His own words while professing to spreading His word.
