The alternative is simply not acceptable

If you were to ''believe'' that God does not exist then the alternative would be something like this and that is not acceptable :)

The alternative being that, life is based on nothing, leading towards nothing. Then expect intelligent beings like humans to roll over and accept that their entire existence is a nanosecond in cosmological terms of no consequence.

For further justification, offer a carrot by appealing to people's intellect just to shout them down. Tell them, not to worry just join us. We will get you the answers one day, your being around when it happens is irrelevant. Get over it. You don't need to hurt your pretty head trying to figure out your place in the cosmos that is just being wane (as if that is relevant in nothingness) just have "fun" and please stop whining about the spaghetti monster. It makes us uncomfortable because we cannot freaking figure out this empathy dilemma without the help of enormous leaps of "faith" like biological processes crossing over to implant thought processes.

Then try to discredit scripture as a source by concentrating on the corrupted parts, in the same breath gloss over any objections to your own comfort zone. As an example the horizon problem or did acceleration actually take place should be declared difficulties rather than the embarrassment that they are to the “scientific evidence”. When manhattan size holes are poked into the one subject that is more dear and near like how did huge information-rich molecules arise before natural selection? or how exactly did the genetic code linking nucleic acids to amino acid sequence originate? Move on to switch and bait tactic, change labels on natural processes and qualify them arbitrarily to the status of Natural Law and peddle it as the source without any credible "evidence" of course. Whenever you are forced to abandon a Lucy for a Ardi or Big Bang for a Dark Flow, claim science is not about certainties, but continue to demand "evidence" in certain terms (without defining the standard of evidence) for the existence of this absolutely indispensable constant, God. Never ever offer the event horizon as an explanation to the "I will believe it, when I see it" retort.

In a final twist turn around and deny that this is not what we believe in because you are too retarded to understand what we believe in. In the mean time continue to deny credit where credit is due and egotistically declare yourself as the nicest people around. And under no circumstances reveal the fact that if the group feels you are a threat to them they will do you in.

As I said, the alternative is simply not acceptable.

Further more as pointed out by theologians throughout history, you will have to eliminate the possibility of God's existence to a point of certainty before you can risk living your entire life with the certainty of ''this is it'' :)
