Let’s just remind ourselves that the primary document of our Deen delivered to us through the official messenger of God is the Quran.
Let us also remind ourselves that Ahad Hadith (third party single person narration) don't meet the standard expected of Muslims and as per the detailed standard of evidence laid out in crystal clear terms of the Quran, it has exactly zero significance in Islam. Even if it happens to agree with an already stated position in the primary document the mighty Quran.
In fact, if someone was to make a claim to its truth and fails to produce four upright witnesses from among the community where the claim is made, then God declares them liars. Imagine that.
Furthermore, this standard applies even to an everyday social situation where a mere character assassination is at play, let alone a defining statement of our beautiful Deen.
The remarkable thing about the following Surah is that it starts with the following words;
[This is] a surah which We have sent down and made [that within it] obligatory and revealed therein verses of clear evidence that you might remember. Quran 24:1
And the following set of verses makes no bones about what is to be accepted as true and what is to be rejected for lack of credible evidence. A de facto standard laid out with verses of clear evidence, as pointed out in the opening verse.
Indeed, those who came with falsehood are a group among you. Do not think it bad for you; rather it is good for you. For every person among them is what [punishment] he has earned from the sin, and he who took upon himself the greater portion thereof - for him is a great punishment. (11) Why, when you heard it, did not the believing men and believing women think good of one another and say, "This is an obvious falsehood"? (12) Why did they not produce for it four witnesses? And when they do not produce the witnesses, then it is they, in the sight of Allah, who are the liars.(13) And if it had not been for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy in this world and the Hereafter, you would have been touched for that [lie] in which you were involved by a great punishment (14) When you received it with your tongues and said with your mouths that of which you had no knowledge and thought it was insignificant while it was, in the sight of Allah, tremendous. (15) And why, when you heard it, did you not say, "It is not for us to speak of this. Exalted are You, [O Allah]; this is a great slander"? (16) Allah warns you against returning to the likes of this [conduct], ever, if you should be believers. (17) And Allah makes clear to you the verses, and Allah is Knowing and Wise. (18) Quran 24:11-18
After being made aware of the above verses, if someone still insists that we should accept Ahad reports as cornerstones of our Deen because a bunch of "scholars" decided that it is okay to go against the word of God then only God can help them.
